What is a Chiropractor?

Chiropractors are university trained (5 years) and are accomplished in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring scan/MRI reports, and list of medication. You may wish to bring shorts and t-shirt.

How many visits will I need?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the chiropractor will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

What should I wear to my appointment?

We do not ask you to undress but if we are treating your spine or other joints, you will be more comfortable with loose, modest clothes or even a pair of shorts.

How do I make an appointment?

You can get in touch by phone ( +613 9095 7990 ) or use the form under the contact page. Alternatively use the quick and easy online booking page.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, chiropractors can assess and treat without referral by a doctor.

Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors.  You will be notified of the appointment duration when you make your appointment.

No.  All chiropractors are required to complete a 5 year university course to be qualified to assess and treat patients.  Subsequent to their formal university training, they are able to undertake further studies which may focus on advanced diagnosis and/or treatment protocols.  Additionally, they may also undertake further studies which focus on specific types of medical issues and/or conditions related to specific population groups, such as pregnant women, children, etc.

Chiropractic consultations are normally only covered by "extra cover" on private health insurance policies.  We recommend that you confirm with your health insurance provider before attending our clinic, whether these services are covered and by how much.  In the event that there is coverage, you will only be required to pay the gap between the actual consultation charge and what the insurance company reimburses.  Supplements and other products are not normally covered by your health insurance policy.

Call the clinic in which you go to for all your regular appointments.  You may also call our main Ringwood clinic on 03 9095 7990.  Note that a missed appointment fee applies if a booking is made and we are not notified at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
